Preparations for the Netball World Cup 2019 are well underway. We are delighted to be launching our official website on 12th July to start bringing news and information to the netball family and to mark two years to go until the very first centre-pass!

Keep an eye on the site as it develops towards the event and register for more information by joining our netball family club.

Women’s sport in the UK continues to go from strength to strength with an increase of over 200,000 more women playing sport.  This rising interest is highlighted by the staging of four female World Cups in Britain and Ireland between 2017 and 2019.  The Cricket and Rugby Union versions take place this year followed by Hockey in 2018. This unique moment in women’s sport culminates with the Netball World Cup in Liverpool in 2019.

NWC2019 are fortunate to be able to build on the momentum that this continued focus on women’s sport will bring to the region, capitalising on the wave of support for female sport to create an exciting, engaging and well-attended competition.

Netball in England, and the other home nations, continues to experience unprecedented growth.  The UK’s Vitality Netball Superleague has grown from 8 to 10 teams due to the increased popularity of elite level netball, UK wide over 1.2 million people are playing the sport and the England vs Australia Netball Quad Series match in February was broadcast on terrestrial TV attracting an audience over 500,000.

With this in mind we aim to make the Netball World Cup 2019 the Best World Cup in Female Sport; not only providing a platform to display the exceptional talent of our elite players but as an opportunity to bring the netball community together in celebration of the sport we all love.

As part of this celebration, we are inviting members of the netball family from around the world to tell us why netball is so important and what it means to them. Please email to share your story.

Tickets and volunteering opportunities will become available in 2018 so please sign up to ensure you are the first to know. We look forward to welcoming you to Liverpool in 2019.
