Orla Burner has been revealed as the winner of our mascot design competition. Whilst we’re busy stitching away, bringing our mascot to life, here is a little bit about netball-obsessed, mascot-designing Orla…
Orla is 10 years old and lives with her Mum, Dad and younger sister Freya in Harpenden, Hertfordshire and is obsessed with netball. She plays every Thursday and represents her school at competitive matches as part of their under-10 squad.
At weekends she plays for her local league team and loves going to watch elite netball too. Recently Orla attended the Quad Series and regularly goes to watch her local Vitality Netball Superleague team Saracens Mavericks.
As the winner of our mascot competition, Orla has won tickets to the opening ceremony session on Friday 12 July and will walk the mascot out in front of the cheering crowds at the World Cup.
